‘Prehistoric’ Van Halen Video Unearthed

‘Prehistoric’ Van Halen Video Unearthed

A long lost video of Van Halen performing in front of dinosaur statues has resurfaced after more than 40 years.

The performance was filmed in late 1981 and broadcast in early 1982 on Italian State TV show “Happy Circus” during the band’s Fair Warning promotion. The video shows the band, including Eddie Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony, performing “So This Is Love?” in a park filled by dinosaur sculptures.

The video was posted on YouTube courtesy of the Van Halen Italia Fan Club. “At the end of 1981 Van Halen filmed some videoclip settled in a Jurassic park in Italy, the ‘Prehistoric Park’ of Rivolta D’Adda (near Milan),” notes the YouTube uploader, Kosmo VanHalenItalia.

The band were at the time touring Europe in support of their fourth LP, 1981’s Fair Warning.
