A juror was removed from the murder trial of Alex Murdaugh due to allegations that she had talked about the trial outside the courtroom. When the judge told her and asked if she had left anything in the jury room, the woman responded that she had left a purse, a bottle of water…and a dozen eggs behind.

Judge Clifton Newman replied, “We get a lot of interesting things, but now a dozen eggs” as laughter broke out in the courtroom. Her eggs were brought out to her, she was dismissed, and the jury found Murdaugh guilty yesterday after less than three hours of deliberation.
