A Four Year-Old Girl On A Unicorn Saved By A Captain

It almost sounds like a story out of Greek mythology – a heroic sea captain rescues a helpless young girl who had been taken to treacherous waters by a unicorn. The real story isn’t quite that sensationalistic, but it’s close.

A little 4-year-old was playing on an inflatable unicorn pool toy when a strong current whisked her away from an Antirio beach in Greece. What’s worse is the current was pulling her to the busy shipping lanes of the Gulf of Corinth, apparently while her parents were distracted. The port authority notified a local ferry captain, who luckily managed to safely rescue the girl-and the unicorn-after finding them floating in the open sea.

Ferry captain Grigos Karnesis said, “She was in a state of shock. She was clinging on this inflatable toy and did not move. She was frozen. When she saw us approaching, she shrieked.” Fortunately, she was not seriously hurt.
