Starbucks Employee Refuses To Serve Customer Without A Mask, Gets $25K From Internet

In a San Diego, California Starbucks, barista Lenin Gutierrez refused to serve a customer because the customer wasn’t wearing a mask which had been a county requirement since May 1. The customer, Amber Lynn Gilles, wasn’t happy about this so decided to attack Guiterrez on social media.

On her Facebook page, she wrote “Meet lenen from Starbucks who refused to serve me cause I’m not wearing a mask. Next time I will wait for cops and bring a medical exemption.” The post has been shared over 46,000 times.

In retaliation, another Starbucks customer, Matt Cowan, set up a GoFundMe page for the barista which read: “Raising money for Lenin for his honorable effort standing his ground when faced with a Karen in the wild.” The page has raised over $25,000 for the barista and Matt says he plans to give all the money to Gutierrez and that it’s up to him to decide what he wants to do with it.
