Vacations are awesome and necessary. They are the prime way to de-stress and get rejuvenated. But if you’re going to do it…do it right. According to a survey done by The Sleep Judge, the perfect vacation length is between 11 and 15 days for prime rest and relaxation.
To find this out, they surveyed over 1,000 people. Taking a vacation of a week-and-a-half or two weeks showed the best results – with 76% saying they were more rejuvenated, 65% saying they were more productive, and 56% saying they felt more creative. As always, the millennials had to be different. Around 40% of them said they were more prepped to go back to work after shorter vacations rather than longer ones.
There’s also something to be said for negativity at your job. It was one-third of those who responded said vacations “aren’t encouraged by their employer.” That sucks. There are also numbers to back up how much of a worker society that America has become. Over 50% of Americans say they haven’t vacationed in a year. To make matters worse, 36% say they haven’t gone on vacation in two years. In the New Year, be good to yourself. Take some time off and enjoy life! << see audio to right >>
