British Airways Flight Lands 525 Miles From Destination In Wrong Direction
Did you ever have a dream where you took off on a plane and ended up landing in the wrong country? That dream became a reality for passengers of a British Airways flight recently.
A British Airways flight bound to Düsseldorf, Germany, from London, England, accidentally landed in Edinburgh, Scotland, instead…going 525 miles away from where it should have been. Passengers only realized they were in the wrong country when an announcement was made welcoming them to Edinburgh after the plane landed.
Officials from the airline are saying that the pilot followed the flight plan for Edinburgh and that air traffic control officials also were following the same flight plan and saw nothing amiss. The problem seems to have been with a mixup in the paperwork.
The flight eventually made it to its intended destination. British Airways has apologized to its passengers.
