Amer says all the sugar is the issue with most cereals and the lack of protein and healthy fats doesn’t help. “You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” she explains. “However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”
So is pizza the healthiest choice to start your day with? Not so much, there are lots of other nutritious options that are less processed. But at least now we can enjoy our occasional morning slice guilt-free.
