Ice Skating Rink In Japan Uses Thousands Of Dead Fish As Decoration
Amusement parks are meant to be fun, not remind you of dead pets. The people over at Japan’s Space World didn’t think that one through before they decided to display about 5-thousand dead fish underneath the park’s ice skating rink.
The dead fish were place on a blue floor in an attempt to make it look like they were swimming underneath the ice. Some even formed a school to spell out “HELLO” while others made an arrow-shaped sign in the ice.
Understandably, visitors weren’t thrilled by the design choice. After locals took to social media to voice their concerns, and call abuse, the owner of Space World apologized. Toshimi Takeda says they’re “extremely remorseful to have invoked such unpleasant feelings.” What’s more, the fish, which he claims were dead before they were frozen, will be given a memorial service after they’re removed from the ice.
