Topics That Are Off Limits For This Year’s Thanksgiving Table
While a lot of us are probably excited to spend Thanksgiving with family, there’s no doubt some people aren’t looking forward to some of the conversations that may spring up at the table, especially considering this year’s divisive presidential election.
Well, it seems most people are dreading that possibility, because according to a new poll, 30% of folks believe politics should be a conversation that’s strictly off limits at the Thanksgiving table. And that’s not the only subject folks don’t want brought up as they’re chowing down on turkey, with another 28% of people saying family finances are a strict no-no.
As for what topics are typically discussed on Thanksgiving, for men, the conversations mostly turn to football, while women are more likely to discuss family and children.
But despite the awkward conversations that may turn up, most people still enjoy spending time with their family over the holidays. In fact, 71% of Americans say family is the one thing they are most grateful for this holiday season.
