Brotherhood Defined: Shotgunning A Beer Daily For 1,000 Days
Dmitri and Joe have a bond of brotherhood that has withstood the test of time. While they were seniors at the University of Dayton, the two decided to shotgun a beer together daily through St. Patrick’s Day. Once that hallowed holiday passed, they decided that the new tradition must continue forevermore…and so far, it has.
Not all that chugging happened while in-person, however. Sometimes circumstances came up that forced them to be apart. That’s where Facetime came into play. That still counts if you do it together live, right? Obstacles have included a two-week Greek vacation, a two-week work trip in Hawaii, and an overnight hospital stay – where a beer was snuck into the emergency room.
On December 3rd, 2016 these brilliant bros will hit a milestone: 1,000 days. This momentous event in beer-drinking history will be celebrated in-style. A huge party in Chicago at Hopsmith Tavern. They have created save-the-date notices for friends, as well as a Facebook event page. The boys are expecting 300 of their friends to show up to shotgun with them. However, now that the world knows about it…they might wanna expand the guest list.
