Imagine driving down a busy street a seeing a tree causing a traffic jam. Now imagine that tree is actually a person moving very slowly across an intersection. That’s what recently happened in Portland, Maine.

The tree, later identified as 30-year-old Asher Woodworth, was spotted moving a glacial pace naturally becoming quiet a spectacle. Which was exactly what Woodworth wanted. After ignoring a warning from police and walking into the street again, he was arrested for blocking traffic.

Woodworth told authorities he wanted to see people’s reactions to his “performance” and how he might impact “people’s natural choreography.”
