They sell everything on eBay, including children, apparently. An unidentified person from Duisburg, Germany looking to sell a “40 day old child” thought the site would be the best place to go.

That person, of course, was wrong in a few different ways. The listing, which included pictures of baby Maria, was taken down just 30 minutes later, after the story went viral.

It’s unclear if the seller was serious or trying to be funny, but either way, they thought a newborn baby would be worth at least $5,510. An eBay spokesperson says local authorities have been given “all available information.”
