Man Orders A Pizza To Check On His Grandma After Hurricane Matthew
When a grandson couldn’t get in contact with his Floridian grandma after Hurricane Matthew, he got creative. It turned out her phone had been disconnected, so Claire Olsen‘s grandson Eric, who lives in Nebraska, called her local Flagler County Papa John’s and had a pizza delivered to her house.
Lance Tyler, the delivery boy, didn’t realize he was on such a special mission until he got to the house and looked at the receipt. When he knocked on Olsen’s door, the senior citizen was understandably skeptical. As she remembers, “He knocked on the door and said ‘Delivery.’ I said, ‘I didn’t order anything.’ He says, ‘Your grandson did.'”
From there, Tyler followed instructions and called Eric in Nebraska. “(My grandson said) ‘Grandma, I haven’t talked to you in two days,” Olsen says. “I got worried about you. You must be hungry by now.” While she says the pizza was “fantastic,” she was mostly touched by her grandson’s concern.
