Purse Made Of A Dead Cat Can Be Yours
If you’re the market for a very creepy fashion accessory, Claire Hobbs has got you covered. The New Zealand taxidermist has created a purse made of the skin of a cat…and it’s up for sale.
Hobbs explains no animals were killed or hurt in the making of the bag. Instead, she insists she found the animal already dead after being hit by a car. She kept the animal in the freezer for three months while she looked through missing pet postings around the area. Eventually she decided to turn the feline into what she calls a “real glamour puss purse.”
Hobbs has put the bag up for sale on the New Zealand website Trade Me and is asking $1,025 (American) for it. As you might imagine, some people are not thrilled with the idea of a cat-turned-purse, but Hobbs insists that “to spend all that time on tanning and sculpture and making it brand new shows the utmost respect.”
