This was not a good weekend for the Mississippi Highway Patrol. A trooper responding to an accident in Lincoln County apparently got into an accident himself. The cop that responded to that second accident put his comrade in his car and was en route to a local hospital when he also wrecked!
Believe it or not, that’s the not the end of the story. The third officer who responded to the accident of the second officer was also injured in a car accident.
What gives? Weather. All three accidents were caused by heavy rainstorms. One of the officers was transported by ambulance, without incident, to the University of Mississippi Medical Center suffering from critical head trauma.
