Woman Gets A World Record For Being The Youngest Female With A Full Beard
Harnaam Kaur‘s body acceptance is putting her in the record books. The 24-year-old from England suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome, which can cause facial and body hair growth. As you’d probably imagine, she had a tough time in school – Kaur was bullied and even received a death threat online.
She was baptized in the Sikh religion, which forbids the cutting of body hair, so she’s now sporting mustache and a six-inch beard. Now, she’s become an anti-bullying activist and in March she became the first female with a beard to walk the runway at London Fashion Week.
Guinness has taken notice of Kaur and awarded her the title of the youngest female with a full beard. She calls the record “absolutely humbling” and hopes it empowers other women to look however they want.
