Man Wins Decade-Long Legal Battle Over $3 Charge
About 10-years-ago, a man from Austria visited a spa pool in Bavaria, Germany. The spa was offering a a third off the entrance price to five different German municipalities. Since the unidentified man was coming from Austria, he was told he had to pay an extra $3. That did not sit well with him.
He’s been fighting the $3 for the past decade, arguing that he should have been treated equally. The case has made its way to the highest court in Germany, and, believe it or not, he’s won!
The court explained that while it’s legal to favor locals, they need a good reason to do so and since the idea of the decade-old deal was to attract visitors from far away, they had no right to deny the Austrian.
