Make Your Life Better In 30 Minutes Or Less
When you want to improve your life, you don’t have to think of making one big move to do it. There are lots of little things you can do every day to make it better in 30 minutes or less. Here are a few things you can try to help you boost your confidence, lower your stress and be a healthier person.
Develop a consistent morning routine – Career coach Adrian J. Hopkins says the key to having a productive day and saving time in the morning is “breaking down every task into small steps, then scheduling everything by starting from the end of the day and working backward.” It seems a little overwhelming, but it’ll keep you from wasting time deciding if you should go for a run, because you already have it planned out.
Develop a consistent bedtime routine – Set yourself up for success the next day by having a killer night time routine. Get your clothes ready for the morning, prep your lunch and have a routine that relaxes you before bed so it’s easier to fall asleep.
Make your lunch (and dinner) – You’re definitely going to eat healthier when you make your own meals, plus you’ll be saving money. Bonus!
Eat it away from your desk – It’s important to take a break during the workday, and lunch is the perfect time to do it. Find a great spot to eat outside if you can, or just head to the office kitchen, anything is better than eating over your keyboard again.
Watch a TED Talk – These little lectures can teach you about the world, yourself or inspire you in some way. They’re short enough to watch when getting ready in the morning, on the train home, or while waiting in the car line for your kids.
Do a bunch of little productive tasks – Scratch off lots of small things from your to-do list that you keep putting off, like making doctor’s appointments, cleaning your desk, organizing your expenses, and cleaning out your bag.
Treat yourself – Make that manicure or massage appointment you’ve been longing for, or meet a friend at that new lunch spot. You deserve it!
Revisit your goals – Check back in with those New Year’s resolutions you made or fitness goals you had for yourself and see if you can alter or get rid of any of them, or what you can do to make them happen.
Connect with an old friend or new co-worker – Make an old friend’s day by sending them a card in the mail, or stop by a new coworker’s desk and make plans to have coffee and get to know them. Studies show that hanging around good people leads to better lifestyle choices!
Clean your closet – Or your desk, office, bedroom, kitchen cabinets or hall closet. Cleaning is actually a stress-reliever, so organizing your space will help you and your environment.
Get outside – You don’t have to go for a run got make being outside healthy, just being outdoors is good for you. It boosts creativity, makes us happier and it could even motivate you to work out, so get some vitamin D and fresh air and you’ll feel better already.
