Adult Summer Camps Increasing In Popularity
Do you miss the days of spending your summer at camp, drinking bug juice and sleeping in a cabin with eight other people and no air-conditioning? Well, turns out, just because you’re an adult it doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to the good ole days of summer camp. Apparently adult sleep away camps are a real thing these days, with folks spending upwards of $1,000 for a few days away from the office with other strangers wanting to relive their childhood.
Why they wouldn’t just want to go to a hotel somewhere is beyond us, but several camps have popped up across the country catering to these adults, including Soul Camp, which has east and west locations, described as a a multi-day, all-inclusive wellness camp for adults. Other camps, like Camp No Counselors, cater to adults who like to let loose, offering them a chance, “to play like a kid and party like a grownup.”
And if you think the accommodations are better than kids get at a real camp think again. Many of these camps actually operate at a regular sleep away camp, once the younger generation of campers head home and back to school.
