Adele Says No To Super Bowl Halftime Show

Sounds like the NFL will have to continue looking for a Super Bowl halftime performer. As we previously told you, the UK press reported that the NFL wanted Adele for the big halftime show, but the singer announced during her show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles that she’s turned down the offer.

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” Adele shared. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”

But despite Adele’s comments, the NFL and Pepsi, sponsors of the halftime show, say she wasn’t actually offered the gig. “The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else,” read a statement to Billboard. “We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.”
