When Michael Kelly was growing up in Charleston, West Virginia in the mid-70’s, he took out the book “So You Want To Be a Doctor” from the Kanawha County Library. Four decades later, Kelly, who did in fact grow up to be a doctor, is finally getting around to returning it.

Dr. Kelly says he recently found the book on a shelf in his house and is “extremely embarrassed” he’s had it checked out this whole time. Library officials say Kelly, who works in Miami and owns Miami Plastic Surgery, is planning on returning the book this afternoon along with a $500 check to show gratitude for his success. He hopes his success inspires other kids in Charleston to follow their dream.
