A lot of strange things happen 30,000 feet in the air, but a monkey seemingly coming out of nowhere? Even that’s unusual. Cabin crew on a flight to Las Vegas spotted a man hiding a monkey under his shirt.

The unmade passenger claimed the monkey was a service animal, but didn’t let the airline know ahead of time and wouldn’t provide paperwork proving it. Plus, officials were probably suspicious considering the man snuck the monkey on the plane in a duffle bag.

Vegas police met the plane and determined the monkey was in fact a service animal. It’s unclear at this point whether the passenger will face any charges.
