Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean you have to give up happy hour. The helpful folks at 247WallSt.com have put together the complete list of beer brands and their calorie counts so you can make a good choice.
- The winner of the low calorie beer sweepstakes – “Bud Select 55” which has 55-calories per 12-ounce serving. (DUH!) Beck’s Premier Light and Miller 64 round out the top three. Thing is, “low” in calories also means you’ll need more to get a buzz. Bud Select 55 is only 2.4% alcohol.
- The highest calorie beer – Tusk & Grain Barrel Aged Blend (a Miller product), with a whopping 353-calories per 12-ounces. But it’ll get you going faster because it’s over 12% alcohol.
The fruit-flavored and heavier beers are generally higher in calories than others. One exception – Guinness. This dark stout has only 125 calories per serving, just 15 more than the same amount of Bud Light.
