‘Pokemon Go’ Will Be Taught In College

It was only a matter of time. “Pokemon Go” is officially going to be taught as part of a college class. The University of Idaho is offering a Pop Culture Games class this fall that will count towards the PE requirement and feature mobile games that get players up and moving.

As of now, the course includes “Pokemon Go” and “Humans vs. Zombies” because, as professor Steven Bird explains, both apps encourage more than just physical activity.

“You get to adventure around, seeing different things, being active, seeing the sun. It allows you to move in large groups and a team,” he says. “You get not only physical activity, but you also get team-building and leadership.”

The first day of class is August 22nd.
