Captain America Getting A 13-Foot Statue For Its 75th Anniversary

Captain America turns 75 this year and to mark the occasion, Marvel is creating a 13-foot-tall bronze statue of the superhero. The statue will be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con at the end of the month before being delivered to its permanent home, Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

In case you’re not a huge comic fan, Captain America, or Steve Rogers, is from New York City. Appropriately, the statue will reportedly have an inscription reading “I’m just a kid from Brooklyn.”

Can’t make it to New York? Comicave, the company who designed the statue, will be selling 750 limited-edition 12-inch bronze replicas and 100-made-to-order 35-inch pewter pieces. So far, there isn’t a list of the statue’s stops following Comic-Con. We’ll keep you posted.
