That’s when the 300-pound mama bear came rushing full speed toward Nelson — and he had no rocks or sticks to defend himself, just years of boxing practice. His solution? Throwing a haymaker at its snout.

He adds, “I knew it would swing first with its left, but it would really come with its right, because most bears are right-handed.” Noted.

After he connected the cub started squealing and ran away — and mama bear followed. In the end, Nelson has some scratches, bruises and a great story about how he took down a freaking black bear.
