Producer Larry Kasanoff promises that this isn’t a money grab. Ya right. It’s just that the story is “so big.” “This isn’t us splitting the last one of our eight movies in two to wring blood out of the stone,” he explains. “It’s just a big story.”

No word on what that ‘story’ is, but there’s been plenty of speculation since the project was announced in 2014. One of the fan theories is that the blocks will be given arms, legs, and faces and sent off to battle each other.

Kasanoff says that would be just plain ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as creating three movies around a puzzle game?

While there haven’t been any announcements about the cast, we do know that it’ll primarily be shot in China and that local actors and actresses are expected to be used.
