The Daily Show’ In Trouble Over Abortion Tweet

The Supreme Court voted to throw out regulations that would have forced many abortion clinics in Texas to close their doors. “The Daily Show” joined the conversation on Twitter and suggested that in celebration, people should “go knock someone up in Texas.”Twitter was quick to call out the show for the tweet, which people called “vile,” “unfunny,” “revolting,” and “trashy.”

The show tried to backtrack a bit by tweeting “Friends, we’re certainly not promoting abortions. Just excited about #SCOTUS reaffirming right to choose.” That hasn’t quieted the critics. Check out some of the first reactions here:
