Microsoft Is Getting Into The Legal Weed Business

Legal marijuana is raking in huge amounts of money and Microsoft wants a cut. No they’re not setting up a couple of growing lamps and getting groovy, they’re doing something way more nerdy. Microsoft is teaming up to create software for the industry.

Los Angeles based Kind Financial has created software to help local governments, state governments and distributors be compliant when it comes to legal weed. Microsoft is going to help them market the software to government agencies.

Microsoft’s bread and butter was PCs, but that market is being chipped away because only your grandma has a PC. So they’ve been building a “cloud computing” business that works with businesses with online services. It looks like one of those industries is going to be legal marijuana.

They have a growing market too. Pot isn’t legal nationwide but Microsoft can expand with every state that starts tokin’ legally.
