So what kind of witchery is this? This can add a ton of cool features to your phone — including the fact that you will no longer have any physical buttons. Things like your volume button and “start” button would be incorporated right onto the phones wrap around screen.

With the new tech, iPhone users would be allowed to play games and watch videos that completely wrap around all sides of the phone. For those videos where you don’t want to see half of the screen.

So no more dishplate smartphones, according to the patent application, the “wrap around display substantially increases the available display area that can be used for display of icons, data, images, video and such.”

So when do we get our all glass phone? Pretty unclear. Apple isn’t making any comments on the new patent and they haven’t disclosed any info that hints at using this technology on their new phones.
