McDonald’s Mega Fan Travels The World To Collect Burger Boxes
Most people collect stamps or quarters. Serge Zaka collects McDonald’s boxes. The 26-year-old from Lusignan, France says he stops at Micky D’s while traveling abroad and he’s learned a lot about how the chain varies from country to country.
“In France or Switzerland, for example, there are hamburgers with local cheeses. In India, the beef being sacred, the chain has expanded its range of vegetarian or chicken burgers,” Zaka explains. “In Portugal, there is a soup section. In Quebec, it is forbidden to use English on the boxes.”
Now that he’s getting more attention for his collection, Zaka says family and friends will bring back McDonald’s containers for him. At this point, he has over 300 boxes lining the walls of his house. Once his collection is complete, which will take a while considering there are Micky D’s in 119 countries, Zaka wants to hold an exhibition with all his McDonald’s swag so others can learn about the different international menus.
