Man Has Been Running For 10,000 Consecutive Days

Do you even remember what your New Year’s resolution was this year?  Lenworth “Kip” Williamson has managed to stick to his since 1989. Almost three decades ago, the Saugus, Massachusetts man decided he would run every day that year. Now, he’s marked his 10,000th consecutive day running.

Williamson isn’t cutting any corners, either. The 57-year-old runs at least three miles a day and mixes in at least one long run a week, which can range from six to eight miles. He ran track and cross country in high school and college and competed in his fair share of Boston Marathons. Now he’s no longer running competitively, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop anytime soon.

“As long as my legs keep working, I’ll keep going,” Williamson, who will celebrate 30 years of running on December 31st, 2018, explains. “The thing that would get me to stop would be so catastrophic that the running would be insignificant compared to it.”
