Patrick Thompson didn’t like the shirt his daughter was wearing and decided to take things to a whole bizarre level. He thought the shirt had something to do with the devil and it needed to be destroyed. Okay.

Thompson lit up the meat smoker in his yard and tossed the shirt in. Weird, but still okay. But that wasn’t enough because Thompson then said he needed to sacrifice a male – and he chose the family dog. Wait, WHAT?!

Witnesses say Thompson was either going to sacrifice himself, his 6-year old son, or the dog. He decided the dog was the best choice.

Officers say he later went with the “devil made me do it” excuse and admitted that he’d been smoking some weed and started having an “episode.” After his freakish sacrifice, he at last had the courtesy to “pray” and “surrendered to God” until police got there.

Meanwhile, Thompson is being held on $100-thousand bail and facing multiple charges, including animal cruelty, assault, threats against his family and tampering with evidence.
