One man in India woke up to a nightmare. He was awakened by the sound of hissing and saw two snakes in the corner of his room. When he tried to shoo them away, he saw that there were more than 150 other serpents in his house.

The unidentified man woke the rest of his family and they fled to a neighbor’s house. With the help of neighbors and a snake charmer, they were able to clear out all 184 snakes and release them back into the nearby forest.

Officials are investigating, but so far, the theory is the serpents were able to get in through a wall after slithering into the basement, most likely to find a safe place to mate.
