People Are Trying to Take Selfies With Alligators

Believe it or not, police in Peachtree City, Georgia have to remind people not to take selfies with alligators. Authorities claim a six-foot alligator has been spotted in the area and people are throwing food to the animal then trying to snap a selfie with it.

“This has gone a little crazy on social media,” Lieutenant Mark Brown with the Peachtree City Police Department explains. “And it has encouraged people to come out here and look for this alligator – and feed it – or talk to it. Whatever.”

Aside from the danger of getting near the gator, which is being referred to as “Flat Creek Floyd,” it’s also a “nuisance” to the animal.
