MTV Announces A Bunch Of New Shows

MTV is bringing the music back! The network announced a slew of new shows in the works and that includes real, actual music. “Advertisers, fans — they always ask, ‘Can you bring music back?’,” MTV President Sean Atkins explains.”[We’re going to do that] through a filter that brings the unique and unexpected while inspired by music and popular culture.”

So what exactly does that mean? For the first time in nearly 20 years, MTV will have a weekly live performance show, “Wonderland.” Reality show guru Mark Burnett is also set to bring a music competition show to the network which will be a combination of “Shark Tank” and “The Voice” and will have a panel discovering unsigned musicians. Oh, and “MTV Unplugged” is being resurrected.

MTV will still have shows outside the music realm, and a lot of them will be star studded. Drew Barrymore, Pitbull, John Legend, and Dwayne Johnson are all working in cahoots with the network. A new project MTV announced is Zac Efron‘s untitled documentary series, which will be able millennials and what they eat.
