FBI Paid Over $1-Million Bucks for 3rd Party to Hack iPhone
And this was after spending gobs of money in legal fees trying to get Apple to open it up.
The FBI and the Justice Department have declined to explain exactly which outside person or group was able to jailbreak the phone — or exactly how they did it.
But, it cost a cool $1.34-million of taxpayer money to pull it off.
On one hand, bravo to Apple. They created a system so robust that nobody working for the FBI was able to hack it.
On the other hand, the FBI should be ashamed. Seems like that agency should be hiring the best and the brightest – and the best and brightest couldn’t beat the security system of a phone? It’s a bad look.
