Philadelphia 76ers Point Guard Had to Pay Cover at a Bar That Was Free for Fans

In Philadelphia, a bar within walking distance of the Wells Fargo Center – home of the 76ers – had a cool offer for basketball fans.

Anyone with a ticket stub to the game didn’t have to pay the $10 cover charge.

Well, 76ers rookie T.J. McConnell visited the bar after a game, but didn’t have a ticket stub. Because… you know…he played in the game.

It didn’t matter. The doorman didn’t recognize T.J. and didn’t believe that he played in the game.

So T.J. – despite being a professional athlete – was on the hook for the 10 bucks.

He’s on an NBA contract, so he could totally afford the cover charge.

But that’s not the point, is it?

One of the reasons you work hard to be a pro athlete is so you get to go to the front of the line and DON’T have to pay.
