Since the walls have – sort of – come down between us and Cuba, more and more tourists have been visiting the Communist island… and they’re having a tough time keeping up.It seems they were not at all ready to deal with all the tourists who enjoy drinking beer as many bars and restaurants actually ran out. This caused the island’s main brewer to consider opening a new plant and importing beer from outside the country to keep pace with growing demand. This problem, unfortunately, is going to get worse before it gets better as President Obama eased travel restrictions to Cuba in February.
As more people fly down there, the chances are good that they will be ordering cold bottles of the island’s favorite brands – Cristal and Bucanero – and get turned down.
Cuba is also struggling with providing hotel rooms and rental cars.
But really, even if you don’t have a room and you don’t have a car… You can still make your way through a fun trip as long as you can get your hands on a cold beer.
