It’s a Great Time to be a Beer Drinker
Beer seems to be more popular than ever, but downing a regular old Bud Light just won’t do for most people, because let’s face it, who wants to drink that crap when there are so many better options out there.
According to a new Harris Poll, 88% of beer drinkers say it’s a particularly good time to be a beer lover, with 70% saying they get excited by new types of beer, and 64% enjoying local brews. In fact, most craft beer drinkers are especially loyal to their area, with 86% preferring a local beer, while 77% prefer imported suds and only 60% like domestic, non-craft beers.
As for favorite types of beer, 30% of drinkers prefer a lager, while 40% say their favorite will change depending on the season. Millennials are actually the biggest seasonal drinkers, at 56%, as compared to 42% of GenXers, 26% of Baby Boomers and 21% of Matures.
So, what are all these beer drinkers eating with their cold frosty pint? Well, pizza is the top choice of 28% beer fans, followed by burgers (10%) and wings (7%).
