Britons Are Calling Police and Asking for Ghostbusters
For some people in the United Kingdom, they do call Ghostbusters. Or they try to. Instead, they call 999, their version of “911,” and ask operators to patch them through to the supernatural team.
According to the Mirror, one force of operators across the pond has had 400 calls about ghosts, aliens, zombies and witches over the last five years. What’s more, more than two dozen of them specifically ask for “the Ghostbusters.” Here’s a sample:
- Back in July 2011, a man called 999 and said he was abducted by aliens and was walking funny.
- In November of 2014, a woman called because she thought she had a ghost in her house who stole her toothbrush and shampoo.
- Then, of course, there was the man who called emergency services because he felt like there was a ghost living inside of him who was refusing to come out.
Thing is, as far as we know, the UK doesn’t have a real Ghostbusters squad on hand.
