This Year’s Top Spring Break Trends
Spring Break is just around the corner and while you may think it’s too late to start booking a getaway without paying an arm and a leg, well, you’re wrong. According to Booking.com, there are still some deals to be had, although overall you will probably be spending more money than last year.
The site reports that on the whole, travel between March 15th and April 30th, the typical stretch of Spring Break vacations, is up 4%, although there are some destinations where the prices have gone down, and some of them aren’t too shabby. In fact, a trip to Cancun is 45% cheaper this year, with Panama City Beach down 11%, and San Diego down 6%.
Some destinations are cheaper depending on when you go. For example, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico is 13% cheaper the week of March 15th to the 21st, while South Padre Island is actually 30% less expensive between m=March 29th and April 14th, while Miami is 19% cheaper that very same week.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for the spots that will be filled with the most Spring Breakers, surprisingly Miami and Fort Lauderdale don’t seem to be huge this year. Based on current bookings, the site says destinations like Barcelona, Big Bear Lake, Charleston, Lisbon and Tulum, Mexico are the places to be.
