The Truth About Workplace Relationships
There are lots of places to find love these days, whether it’s online, on an app, or even a good old fashioned bar, but most of us know all too well one of the easiest, and probably most risky, places to find a boo is at the office.
A new UK poll (although it could easily translate here in the U.S.), finds that 37% of couples say they met at the office. What’s more, 35% of folks admitted to having a workplace affair, with 60% of all illicit affairs starting at the office.
And crushes are also a really big thing on the job. A whopping 67% of folks admit they’ve lusted after the boss, with power being a big reason for their attraction (56%). But it’s not just the higher ups. Even more people, 79% admitted to being secretly in love with a colleague.
Of course, all of those office romances don’t work out. In fact, 71% of folks admitted that a work date turned into a disaster, with 32% of people actually considering a new job because of an office romance gone wrong.
