Bulldog Gets a Facelift
The one of the most iconic traits of bulldogs is their wrinkly face. For Frank the dog, his wrinkles were too much. The pooch, who lives in London with his adoptive owners, was “irresponsibly” bred, leaving him with eye, ear, and breathing problems. A vet looked at the “lovely, bright and intelligent” pooch and decided to give him a facelift.
“Firstly, our team gave him antibiotics and steroids for his skin and medication to treat his eyes,” Emmeline Macedo, a nurse involved in the procedure, explains. “He then underwent surgery to open up his airways under general anesthetic.” A giant fold of skin was also removed to help his vision.
Frank recovered well from the surgeries, but could need more in the future.
