Does the idea of living on a beautiful island with tons of beaches sound like paradise to you? Yeah, us too, which is why it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to find out that for a fifth time, Hawaii ranks as the Happiest State in America.
Hawaii topped the annual Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, which looks at five factors that lead to well-being, – purpose, social relationships, financial security, community and physical health.
Hawaii ranked in the Top Five in every category except social relationships (they placed 16th), which I guess means folks there are happy but also lonely. Alaska, which was number two on the overall list, was the only state to land in the Top Ten in all five categories.
As for the states with the worst well-being, those would be Kentucky and West Virginia, which ranked 49th and 50th.
