Well, a young White Sox fan with kidney disease got the most unexpected – and life-saving – gift of a donated kidney from none other than a Cubs fan.

Thirty-five-year-old Cubs fan Chris White had heard that five-year-old White Sox fan Drew Duszynski was in trouble because of a bum kidney, so he reached out with an offer to help.

Sure enough, the kidney was a match. They performed the operation a few weeks ago – and now both sports fans are on the mend.

The families have stayed connected. Drew’s family sent White and his family Cubs gear as a thank-you.

And Chris has joked that he hopes his donation might, at some point, set Drew straight and help him make a better choice in baseball teams.
