Zoo Names Baby Penguin after David Bowie
News of David Bowie‘s death caused an outpouring of tributes and messages from just about everyone. Now, even the animal kingdom is sending its love to Ziggy Stardust.
The Cincinnati Zoo announced the birth of their newest member, a penguin, back on January 8th and it was between two names: Bowie and Elvis, because both Bowie and Elvis Presley share that birthday. The zoo went with Bowie because they already have a king penguin named Elvis.
Once news of the rock star Bowie’s death was reported, the zoo posted a message on its Facebook page saying they are officially keeping the name Bowie and adding a Rest in Peace hashtag.
