Dr. Birnbaum says lottery winners have added stress with friends and family members wanting a portion of their winnings, too.  She also says after winning the jackpot, it would be difficult to tell if new people want to be your friend just because of your new money.

The IRS will want to know all about the money and the charities you’re giving to, and they’ll be investigating thoroughly.  There will also be a lot of new choices, like which charities to help, how much to give to family and friends, and even which presidential candidate to support.
