Man Wins $2,000 Worth of Prizes Because He Was the Only Contest Entry
You can’t win if you don’t play, just ask Taylor Langstaff. He was the only one to enter a contest his native Bay City, Michigan organized to help celebrate it’s 150th anniversary. So he won about $2,000 worth of prizes.
The contest called for people to attend 25 events in the city and get a stamp at each one. Langstaff was the only person to hand in a completed passport. He attended a show, went to a brewery, and took a holiday tour of homes in Bay City’s historic area.
The best part? He had a great time. “I love Bay City so much that this was pretty easy,” Langstaff said. “I met a lot of people, was able to go to a lot of neat events, take in some great shows — this contest really showed what this city has to offer.”
Since he was the only participant, he got the grand prize along with what was set to designated for the second through 10th place winners. Now he has a ton of gift cards to local restaurants, two season passes for the Bay City Players, and a yearlong membership to the Bay Area Family Y, among other prizes.
