Business Shuts Doors And Takes A Shot At The Government On The Way Out

Family-run businesses are hard to come by these days as corporate America continues to push them out of business. Well, one central New York family had been in business for over 30 years and now finds themselves having to close the doors. Only they don’t blame corporate America, they blame the local government.

A popular pool hall in Central New York called Hippo’s House of Billiards had been a family-owned and operated establishment ever since Vic Conte opened it in 1989. For years Vic has tried to get the local government to address the horrific flooding issues that the area experiences every time it simply rains.

Once again, it rained on Halloween and again the area around Hippo’s House of Billiards got flooded. This time the damage was too severe to recover. They had just reopened five months ago after getting flooded from another storm.

So the family closed the business. However, they did leave a message for the local government on the sign outside the pool hall.

“GOODBYE NY F U,” the message said.
